I have been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful than ever before.

So tell me more. What aren't you sold on, yet? And what are your suggestions for being more entertaining? I do really want to get a crowd behind me. I believe marketing phobia is a major cause of business failure among solo-entrepreneurs, especially the service types and I'm passionate about entrepreneurs succeeding in creating businesses that bring them the lives of their dreams. I do intend to include video in my blogging, maybe a month in the future.

Thank you for the feedback. What would you like me to be more specific about? What was confusing to you? I'm eager to more clearly communicate the consequences of this problem and the benefits of healing or getting past marketing phobia and you can help me by telling me more about what you were thinking when you read the post. Thanks.

George, Here are my top 3 tips for someone new to the topic of Marketing Phobia:

1) Decide if you are running a business or a hobby.

If you are doing a hobby, then forget about marketing. Just enjoy doing your hobby. If you are running a business then you must start acting like a business person. With one restriction you can define “business person” in almost anyway you want. The restriction is that the thing you call your business generates revenue and a profit. Deciding you are running a business is tantamount to deciding you want to grow as a person. So go for it.

2) Decide where you end and the world begins. Do you know where your boundaries are and do you maintain them?

Being “nice” is only one value that's important. When you have firm boundaries you can add the values responsibility, respect, effectiveness and leadership to name a few. The rewards for honoring these other values is even more fulfilling than just being nice.

Being nice is also confused with taking responsibility for other people's actions, thoughts and feelings. Again, a boundary issue.

Bartering can be another way of ignoring your squishy boundaries. If you are always trading you never have to have the dreaded “sales conversation” and you can go on feeling happy because no one has said 'no' to you.

3) Reframe 'marketing' as a mirror (not a mask).

When you are being who you really want to be in your business then you will attract all those people who find you interesting, value your opinion and wisdom and want to connect with what they like - you.

It's about communicating you to the world through another medium – your business. You already do this communicating by the way you dress, the car you drive, the neighborhood you live in, the books and the movies you tell your friends about.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
