FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
What is NLP?
NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming, is the science of how the brain codes learning and experience. This coding affects all communication and behavior. It affects how you learn and how you experience the world around you. It is a key to reaching goals and achieving excellence.

NLP is also the science of studying the patterns of excellence in the world’s most successful people, identifying the processes that produce their amazing results, and then re-programming the software of your mind to replicate their successes.

Who do you work with?
I work with women between the ages of 45 and 70 who want melt away 20 pounds or more (like a lot more!), have tried everything and have yet to see true success. I’m drawn to people who are excited about personal change and growth, who are committed to learning and who are willing to explore what’s possible. My Choice Client:
- Has a generally positive outlook
- Is actively seeking growth, both personal and professional
- Is authentic & honest
- Takes their success seriously – but has fun with it
- Sees the value of support
- Doesn’t want 8am appointments (wink, wink)
What results can I expect?
This really depends on the goals you have for yourself.
At the very least, my clients experience:
- Greater clarity about what they want and how to get it
- Increased effectiveness
- Increased personal satisfaction
- Higher levels of confidence
- Deeper self-awareness
- Stronger motivation
- More appreciation for their natural strengths and how they operate in the world
On a pragmatic level, you’ll:
- Become very aware of your body and mind and what they need to functional well
- Learn what whole foods are truly supportive of your body
- Learn techniques to handle difficult environments (e.g. holidays, travel), difficult emotions (e.g. anger, loneliness, sadness), and disabling thought patterns (I can’t, I’m not worthy, I don’t know how)
- Take focused action to achieve your goals
- Learn how exercise works with eating to promote your body’s optimal weight
How is coaching different from counseling?
Coaching is for people who are functioning well in life and who want to experience greater levels of fulfillment and success. Therapy tends to focus on the past and has a “something’s broken, let’s fix it” orientation.
Coaching focuses on using your strengths to support you in accomplishing your goals. Achieving results and forward movement are an integral part of this.
Therapy is appropriate for problems or challenges that are interfering with your ability to cope with life on a day-to-day basis.
The coach does not have answers. The coach does not provide expertise. A coach operates from the presupposition that the client has all the resources, including the ability to discover and utilize resources.
Coaching accelerates the individual’s progress by providing greater focus and awareness of possibilities leading to more effective choices.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
We can all benefit from having an ally who is focused on the achievement of our goals right along with us. You might consider working with a coach if:
- You’ve tried many approaches, experienced some success only to see it disappear in days, weeks, months
- You are ready to truly change the way you are doing things to get the results you want
- You’re no longer willing to let the Excuses of Life get in your way
- You want to experience more enjoyment and success in your life
- You know that stretching yourself and expanding your comfort zone is what leads to accomplishing great things
- You’re tired of trying to do it all on your own
How much does it cost?
Again, this will depend on your goals and how we work together. I offer both individual and group coaching, teleseminars, workshops and educational products.
To give you an accurate answer, we’ll want to have a brief conversation about you, your health/weight loss goals and what you intend to accomplish.
Then I’ll be able to recommend which program(s) might best support you in that and the cost. Alternatively, we may decide we’re not a match and I’ll be able to suggest other resources or refer you to someone else.
